The Tata Aeris 2026 is a 5-seater compact sedan designed for private buyers who want practical dimensions, modern technology and a choice of petrol or factory-fitted CNG powertrains. Tata launched the Aeris in India on 25 September 2026 as the successor to the Tigor.
It uses a 1.2-litre, three-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine with a 1,199 cc displacement. The petrol version produces about 86 hp and 113 Nm, while the CNG version produces about 76 hp and 97 Nm. A 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT are available with the powertrain range. Power is sent to the front wheels.
For fuel-conscious buyers, the CNG version uses Tata's twin-cylinder setup. Reported ARAI figures are 19.2 km/l for petrol manual, 19 km/l for petrol AMT, 26.49 km/kg for CNG manual and 28.06 km/kg for CNG AMT.
The Aeris also focuses on safety and convenience. Six airbags are standard, while selected variants offer ESP, hill-hold control, TPMS, a 360-degree camera, blind-view monitor and dashcam recording. Technology features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless charging, connected-car functions and 65W Type-C charging.
With 170 mm ground clearance, a 2,450 mm wheelbase and a 419-litre petrol boot, the Aeris is suited to family use, daily commuting and highway driving.
